Mass Transportation in Kuala Lumpur

It's not my first time visiting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. But it is my first time traveling only with a friend. Yes, it's just the two of us (girls) traveling around Kuala Lumpur all by ourselves. On my first trip to Malaysia, all went easy because it was a college field trip so we just sat back relax on our couch in bus. But now we should arrange our trip before, the transportation, the accommodation, and the attractions we would like to visit. We only have 3 days 2 nights in Malaysia (a short trip), so this part is a story about the transportation we took along our trip in KL, Malaysia.

We took a plane from CGK (Jakarta) to KLIA2 (Kuala Lumpur) at 9.00 am but got delayed to 12.00 pm and we arrived at 3.00 pm in Malaysia. From KLIA2 there's an express train to reach the town (the airport was located far from town) named KLIA express. It served both for express train and transit train and went visa versa from KLIA 2 >> KLIA >> KL Sentral.

It's so easy to get into this train. From arrival section, after you claim your baggage then get into immigration and custom checkpoint, then just follow the sign for KLIA Ekspres. You can buy the ticket at counter ticket there, it's just RM 35 for one way ticket from KLIA2 to KL Sentral station.

It's very convenient and comfortable. Inside the express train, there's a guidance about the express train and also wi-fi provided inside this train. So don't worry about the world~ ^^ and it trains every 30 minutes so you can adjust it to your flight schedule.

very comfortable, isn't it?
It took around 53 minutes to finally arrived at KL Sentral station. KL Sentral is a central station for every mass transportation in Kuala Lumpur, express train, monorail, commuter, bus, and even taxi. From this station you can go everywhere.

First thing first, we need to check-in into our Hotel which is located in Petaling Jaya area. Based on our gathered information, to reach our hotel we need to take a commuter from KL Sentral to Kp. Dato Harun station and then from there we can just use a taxi to our hotel (it's not far from the station).

It's so easy to find the counter ticket for commuter, you have to say your destination station then the counter clerk will say the price for the ticket. So it is very important to know your destination first! You can find it on the map beside the counter ticket. So you have to learn the route first and remember in which platform your commuter will arrive. If you lost, you can always ask the employee there. Don't be panic. The commuter also trains every 30 minutes and operate until 11.00 pm.

waiting for the commuter at the platform
This commuter also provides lady's coach in its every train, at the 3rd and 4rd coach in pink colored :) so do not have to worry especially when the train is full.

it finally arrives, the train! ^^

inside the commuter, it's very clean and comfortable

the ticket price is also cheaper enough than taking a taxi to our hotel

our destination station, Kampung Dato Harun

from Kg. Dato Harun to another station it only costs RM 1.80 ^^
Another mode of transportation that you can try in Kuala Lumpur is Free Bus GoKL. This bus is provided for FREE! You can check the route through the site here.

find this purple free bus GoKL at the station near KLCC ^^
If you want to explore Kuala Lumpur in a smarter and cheaper way, you can try many of their mode of transportation. It's so easy, convenient, and comfortable. While traveling here you can enjoy the view, the people, and the city. It's far away from home but sometimes it fells like we're home due to the cultural proximity between Malaysia and Indonesia.

sorry for the blur ^^

And the last choice to swarming around the city of Kuala Lumpur, is Monorail. The ticket price is cheap and the station located mostly in the heart of the city.

Like the other type of mass transportation in Kuala Lumpur, the monorail also trains regularly every several minutes so we do not have to worry if we missed the train, we can wait for another schedule.

The coin is the ticket so you have to keep it tight until you have arrived at your destination. Without it you cannot pass the ticket gate.

At KL Sentral station you could find the monorail ticket counter at the other side of the building. You have to exit the station then follow the direction to the monorail at Tun Sambanthan street, you have to follow the skywalk/tunnel way until you find the ticket counter of monorail. You can buy the ticket via counter or in vending machine. The vending machine use both papers and coins money. Very easy and convenient, just follow the rules.

It's quite full inside the monorail.
It was my irst time riding a monorail. It was feel like I am riding a rides in a circus, especially when it turns right or left sharply.

The tunnel connected monorail station and KLCC park. It's a very long way.
